Hi, Welcome from Hertfordshire, good to see someone else pressing on with their Z, 150 miles to a tank takes some doing

Welcome, I personally know this car and have worked on it. My mate used to drive it but it was in his mums name I believe. 2.8 . Last I remember it was all Powerflex bushes and running BC coilovers. Is all that still present? If it is its near on a perfect track setup.

That's interesting. It does have powerflex bushes but no BC coilovers unfortunately :(
How long ago was this because I bought it from near Derby and he reckoned to have had it for about 4yrs.

@nickp turns out I'm talking out my ass, his mum still has it. Very similar car.

Going by your description on handling it sounds like your shocks have given up. Quite common for the age of the car. Two options
1) replace like for like (Sachs parts) which by the way are stiff anyway, I've fitted quite a few sets.
2) Buy some BC's and have 30+ settings on each corner till your hearts content.

This will really sort the handling and wobbliness. The front vagueness will most likely be the rear wishbone bush see if its purple or not.

Fair one :)
I've already ordered Eibach springs and Bilstein shocks, not an ideal track set-up I know but I need to keep it useable on the road. I'll check all the bushes when I fit this lot but hopefully all's well as apparently fully Powerflexed up

First mod done. Bit blingy I know but seems pretty sturdy and the cheapest on I could find TBH ;)

Bilstein shocks arrived today, just waiting for the Eibach springs so I can start sorting the wobbly suspension.

Your heading in the right direction. I ran those springs on my M.

Looking good Nick, I got my "new" 108 style wheels on Monday. Haven't had a chance to start cleaning them yet.

Tony.

'New' tyres fitted and 'new' wheels bolted on. Car desperately needs lowering but the wheels seem a perfect fit and I reckon really suit the car

What size etc. Nick?

They are 5X120 with a staggered fit 8J front and 9J rear
ET35 Front and ET40 Rear
225 front (6mm tread) 255 rear (done 500miles!!) Bridgestone RE050s
Got the whole lot including fitting for a smidge over £400, bit of a bargain I reckon ;)

Similar to mine apart from the offsets are ET35 all round and I have 5mm spacers on the rears. That's a decent price you picked them up for with decent tyres.

I've just ordered some eibach's and bilstein B4s for mine after it failed the MOT on shocks.

got mine from demon tweeks / ebay in the end. so much cheaper than stock stuff

now just need some LMs and we'd have some bloody similar cars!
