Hi, small steps to start and if you run into a problem there's always an answer here and in a lot of cases someone close who can help out with expertise and labour. Probably a bit harder for you as for me as there aren't many members around where I live but the tech advise is rock solid and you can fix most problems yourself. Do you have a service manual either book or disc. If not get one and read it cover to cover a couple of times and fire off questions here. I've been diddling with cars for a long time but this Z3 is a different animal and I learn something new here every day. So go for it and get your hands dirty, it's great therapy! JIMAlways have enjoyed the car, just now getting my feet wet at self maintenance!
(I just had a shop put a new 2014 V8 engine in my 2008 Chevy Avalanche......2 months later I had to replace the
oil sensor....in the back of the motor.....somehow I did it and saved @$100, so I'm getting brave)
