Hi @SRT and welcome from Leicestershire and seems as if you are enjoying the zed which is usual as they always bring out a smile.

With regard to your wandering an often missed item which also has a big influence on front end stability are the drop links between the roll bar and front suspension arm. They are easy enough to replace and the Meyle HD ones seem to be the best of the aftermarket ones. If you do change them yourself the bottom fixing bolt should be tightened when the car is back on the floor otherwise the bottom bush is twisted when tightened with the weight off the car.

Yes made a difference. I changed the control arm bushes first and then later the drop links which improved the handling even more. The small rubber bush at the bottom gets some grief over 15 or so years.
