Hello

I have just recently bought a Z3 2.2 in Dakar Yellow, not everyone’s favourite colour but I quite like it.
I live in Sunderland and was wondering if there are any other owner members close by?

in the past I have restored many Triumphs, however I’m getting on in Years and can’t be bothered with full restoration, I’ve opted for a tidy 52 plate as a work in progress needing some cosmetics but could probably do with a full steering and suspension replacement with one or two other component parts having covered 92k.

Hi ans welcome from Surrey, your story sounds familiar, I have had several Triumphs, the last one a GT6which I rebuilt from a rusty wreck. I finaly got fedup with the fight and bought a Z, that was 12 years ago and I have never regretted it. Love Dakar. :welcome:

Welcome to the forum from Texas USA! I had a TR3 as a young man. The rebuilding on it was not as a restoration project, but as a necessity to get to work and school. Loved the car, though. Love my Z3 more!

Hello again,
Being a new member I would like to Thank you for the comments and greetings from my Z friends.
I’ve been compiling my list of parts to replace, amongst them are front and rear springs and shocks. I will also be replacing all of the front bushes and suspension, wishbones etc!
It would appear that the original springs and the shocks supplied by Sachs are no longer available and have been deleted from the ZF Sachs range, access to standard shocks are available from several sources, has anyone managed to find an alternative to the springs and shocks for M suspension?
I’ve also been looking to purchase an original wind breaker, the one which pulls over the roll bars, are they any good?
Many thanks
