Been viewing site for a while as a guest and thought it only polite to join.
The car is a 2001 Z3 2.2 Auto with 90k miles. It's not too bad for age/mileage and started improving back towards standard condition more or less as soon as I got it. It is a car that lends itself to the diy mechanic which modern cars deny.
Jobs completed so far have been replace all front/rear calipers,discs/pads etc. Front drop links. Alloys refurbished and four new Hankook tyres. Aerial grommet. New tension pulleys and ribbed belt on engine and a new viscous fan coupling.
Previous owners have replaced springs all-round and various bushes and exhaust is quite recent and sounds a bit sporty! It's a bit like filling in the gaps that still need attention. As with all older cars there is always something to do to occupy our time and deplete the bank balance!
Congratulations on a very useful site.

Thanks for all the welcome messages.
I live in the North Shields area of Tyneside. I am retired and bought the Z3 as a bit of a project last October to have something to tinker with during all my spare time!! What spare time you ask. If your retired you will know what I mean. Wifes list of decorating/gardening, fetch and carry for the grand kids, walk the dog. The list is endless. Bliss when I can hide in the garage out of the way and tinker with the Zed. All good fun.
