hi all
just wanted to introduce myself. I bought a 2002 Z3 3lt last week and am having a ball. It’s my first car in 35 years. As I am a tradesman and have always used a white van.
So all I have ever wanted was a roadster with no possibility of me being able to put a roof rack on and carry ladders. Lol
She is like new with only 75,000 miles of which 17,000 was in the last 12 years.
She will need a little work. First is to Re-Gas the aircon tomorrow.
The lights are pretty poor not as good as my wife’s mini of that year that had Zenon fitted.
I asked a local car electrician about converting but he tells me that, as of this year it will be an MOT fail. Is he right ?
Cheers

Hi and welcome Ivor.

Nice looking Zed you have there.

HIDs were never fitted to Z3s so upgrading them would indeed be an MoT fail. Fit something like Osram Nightbreakers.
Make sure they pressure test the air-con, especially if there is nothing left in there when they evacuate the system. Quite possible there is a leak somewhere.
If that’s all it needs you’ve got a nice car to start from.
Where are you based?
