Hello gents new to it all on here really love my bmw mine is a 3 series m sport 2007 and the wife has a Z4 sport 2007 reason for me joining is I need some help guys with the Z4 if any of you can help it would be much appreciated

Hi Darren, mine is a E85 Z4. Welcome from near Lincoln, what's the problem with your wife's car?

Hi Darren, mine is a E85 Z4. Welcome from near Lincoln, what's the problem with your wife's car?

I brought my wife a Z4 2 months ago unfortunately windscreen took a hit so the original bmw screen was removed since then and I say this loosely but my alarm keeps going off which it never did before!
So had a quick look on here and bonnet sensor seemed to be the common fault but not in my case as I have replaced it today and I managed to have a look on a friend works laptop to look if any faults were listed to which it’s telling us tilt sensor my question guys is does the tilt sensor wiring run through the rear view mirror only reason I ask is the red wire in the mirror was caught and stripped a little secondly if the wiring runs though the mirror what wires are they colour wise and finally where is the tilt sensor located if any of you can answer this you are legends many thanks.

Yes Toni I’ve done that but unfortunately they say they can’t get here until Thursday next week but my neighbours might Lynch me for waking them up at stupid o’clock for the last 3 days

I would tend to tell the Insurance that " that's not good enough" and their repairer has caused this problem and to get here yesterday. This did not occur until their windscreen fitter did the repair and it's just not acceptable. Also point out that you belong to a Z.roadster forum and that you might tell us about your issue if that's the best they can do.

Worth a try mate I will call them tomorrow I do kind of believe damage to the mirror because I guess everything runs through it at some point but I’m not paying for that from bmw after I got the price I almost passed out
