E85 3.0se auto
Hi everyone, new to the Z club, had this E85 3.0 auto for 3 or 4 weeks now & just getting used to it. First decent run out to the coast today & most noticeable thing was the amount of wind buffeting compared to my old MR2 Roaster- any thoughts or help for this? Engine seems good (only 73k) and had it serviced as soon as I brought it home. Got a headlight full of condensation, dried it out with hairdryer but most of it back already- help?? Not sure about the runflats, will have to keep them until funds allow any changes so any info help on that subject appreciated! Usual broken cupholder included with mine Apart from that and a couple of annoying rattles, everything else seems good. The other thing if anyone can help, it came with the Carly adaptor but I don't fancy paying the subscription- I believe the guy I bought it from programmed the lights to be on permanently, so if there's anyone Chesterfield Derbyshire way that fancies re-coding them for me, that would be great!! Thanks in advance, and thanks again for welcoming me to the Z roaster club. Mark

Hi Mark welcome from me too near Lincoln another Z4 owner. Headlight problem common, probaly need removing and drying and resealing.
Ditch the runflats when you can. Nice easy clean wheels I see but if you're running it through the winter you may want to get a set of one piece wheels because road salt plays havoc with split rims. Cup holders are expensive and fragile toys I wouldnt have drinking in my car;)
Did you get the wind deflector with the car?

Tony.

Thanks Tony, the rims are showing a little bubbling so would like to replace wheels & tyres at some point when funds allow- will probably keep it off the road in winter though anyway. The headlight looks a hassle to remove completely, will live with it for now I think but get round to it at some point
I've got the wind deflector but I saw a post somewhere for some after market side fills that help but not sure where! Was surprised how bad it was compared to the MR2 but not going back now!

I had this clear acrylic panel made for my car and I find with this fitted and windows down there's not as much turbulence in the cabin.

I had my forum name etched on then added a decal (Which I sell) to the bottom edge. Also gives me a position to put my rear facing camera too. If you're missing the pieces in the roll bars you could make them easily by making a template and having them cut locally, that's what I did with the centre piece. Having the seat as low as you can also helps.
Headlights are easy to remove, by taking off the front bumper (7 self tappers across the top, 4 plastic buttons in each wheel arch and 6 self tappers across the bottom. 15 minutes work. Headlights a few screws and wires, so a winter time project maybe?

Tony.

Thanks again Tony, that wind deflector looks great, will look into that for next year, probably after the new wheels & tyres! And yes, probably winter project for the headlight, one of those annoying things that just need sorting at some point.
