Hi all, hoping for a bit of help. In the process of removing the old sills, ( they were pretty bad when I looked at the back ) is it possible to buy new clips and bolts to replace the old ones. Most of them were in a terrible state.

Thank you for any pointers. Milkomark

... I would recommend the Creator 310+, for circa £50 its a powerful bit of kit to have in your tool kit...
+1 from me. Not sure if the under-dash OBD socket will sort the airbag light. I did the same on mine; switched on the ignition without a seat in place. I used my C110 via a 20 pin adaptor (for £6.50) to enable use of the underbonnet socket. That allows access to more car systems anyway.

Yes @IanA is correct you will need a 20pin to 16pin adapter to use the Creator 310+ on the underbonnet diagnostic socket to read the airbag module. The 16pin under the steering wheel will only read engine and gearbox modules. Cable available on ebay.

Hello all thanks for the feedback. I will print most of the pointers out to my friend and I'm sure it will help. Thanks Nefyn Cat I'm in that precarious situation that I have to broach the wife with the subject of extra funds for my project ☹. Why did I ever leave her in charge of the accounts!!
Wish me luck.

Hi bombur,
thank you very much. The wife and I took a trip down to your neck of the woods last week. Sadly not in the Z3. Very nice indeed. Plenty of development going on. It's getting like the Monte Carlo of South Wales:thumbsup:. I'm sure I saw your car outside one of those illustrious new apartments in Rest Bay. Regards Mark

Hi there,
I'm wondering if somebody could give me a pointer to which fastenings I need for my new sills. I'm looking on Vehicle Clips.co.uk but, can't seem to match up the OEM parts with anything that looks the same. I'm sorry if this has been mentioned in another thread. Grateful for any help.
Regards to all. Mark

Hi bombur,
good for you. Glad to hear that. You've made me jealous. My car is covered with dust and is quite a way off from cruising down Porthcawl prom. Perhaps next spring. I live in hope.
Best Wishes

Once again, this just might come in handy.
Find the parts you need and phone Sopers. Mention zoadster.org and they give a discount and ship free.

Parts you will need to have to hand when refitting are here for the doorv entrance cover
The plastic clips will break when you dismantle it so replacements to hand is handy items 7 and 8 in the list.
For the outer sill cover you will need some replacement hex head screws to replace the rusty ones you take out, items No 4 here
Might be worth considering getting some stainless screws 4,8X16 and some stainless washers to increase the screw hex head when you use these as the heads only have a small flange. Stainless screws on ebay same for the washers
stainless screws here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181786652459?var=480728974715
Washers here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/313471785352?var=612318782524
When you take the sill covers off also take the plastic jacking points out and clean and treat any rust behind them before replacing them.
Probably best to get the sill clips direct from BMW dealer, ebay items are from Latvia and price is high, use Soper BMW at Lincoln, phone them and order, ask for forum discount and they will post them to you.

Hi Robert,
thank you for your greetings. That's a smashing looking Zed you have there. That's not a common colour. Not to my knowledge anyway. Top man Colb thank you so much for your time and imput. Much appreciated. As I said free milkshakes when you pass Nelson. I could stretch to something stronger though.
