New M owner

Hello all,

I'm completely new to the forum.
I just moved from a modified mazdaspeed miata, to a stock 2001 M roadster.
So far I'm very happy with the car! I'm going to figure out what maintenance it needs aside from an oil change.
I'm going to fix the saggy glovebox, and clean and treat the seats before they crack.
I still need to modify the driver's seat a bit to get more clearance for my head and improve my comfort, and then I'm planning to get a rollbar that will allow me to do some lapping days at the local track when covid restrictions are loosened. I went to quite a few autocross days with the miata, and I'm looking forward to seeing how this compares!

The seats are super shiny in this photo because I was treating the leather today. They sure look better after treating and buffing!

Blue happens to be my favourite car colour! It was happenstance that this car was blue, but I'm pretty pleased with it.
I've had a few blue vehicles over the years, and I miss them all.

I loved that B. It's still the best feeling transmission and shifter I've experienced.
Even after extending the upholstery staples in the seat so I was sitting on the floor, and raising the roll bar up, I was still not much below the roll bar.
It sure was fun to drive though!

Mazda copied the MGB gear change and even the sound when designing the NA MX5, Miata etc. No wonder it was so succcessful. They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
