also falling off hurts more as you get older=)) the problem i had was the shear volume of traffic on the roads, its a lot more dangerous now, and to make things even worse cars are not as slow as they were:eek:
Strange situation: I decided to take my A license (for bike) until it's not too late! I always wanted a bike but odds were against; now my boys are old enough and not yet having nephews... so I prepare my self to start , in the early Spring , the bike school. I'll use the bike just in some roads/ streets and at special hours , as I agree , the traffic is not at all friendly for two wheels anymore...

Welcome to the forum from Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. I wasn't too far from you a few weeks ago. I drove out to Ohio for some Z seats. Frankie
Thank you very much Frankie. Good to hear from you. Would you believe Egg Harbor is on my short list of places to visit? Two of my ancestors (father and son) owned a farm at Egg Harbor in 1759. I hope your trip wasn't in that below zero weather.

Good luck to you! Please be careful. My best advice is to assume that other drivers don't see you. Even if they see you, they know that they're bigger than you.

No, it missed us by about 15-20 miles. My wife has been through 2 of them and doesn't want to do it again. I haven't tackled the hat thing yet....my brother told me he lost 2 baseball caps that way.
Glad you hear you escaped the worst of the weather, been scanning WFTV Channel 9 this morning as there were severe T/storms predicted for Osceola County where are place is. Apparently the heavy rain started around 11.00 Saturday evening which stabilised the atmosphere and prevent Tornado formation in the area. Others not so lucky.

Tony.

There is an Egg Harbor City which is inland about 6 miles. Then there is Egg Harbor Township which is roughly at the intersection of the Garden State Parkway where I live. Then there is Little Egg Harbor, a small town about 12 miles north of here. Some books say that they were names because of all the bird eggs that were around the harbors.

Thank you for the information. The inventory of my ancestor's estate says he was in Great Egg Harbor in Gloucester County. We haven't figured out what kind of farm it was. Whatever it was, we judge by the number of chairs, table service and kitchen utencils, there were many people. Were there orchards? I do expect to visit sometime in the next few years. I've actually been through there two or three times, but that was long before I knew about any connection.

Let me know when you want to come here. Perhaps i can look around for some of the places you want to see. I got an extra bedroom if its needed. If you look on Google earth, I'm right where the Garden State Parkway and the Atlantic City expressway meet. Frankie

Thanks for your generous offers, but I imagine I'll have some of my family with me. I promised to take them to NYC.

At 68, you're tougher than I, that's for sure. I'm getting a knee replacement, to repair a 35+ year old motorcycle injury and hope it makes getting in and out of the Z a little easier. Getting very anxious to take it down from the jackstands.

Frankie, I didn't want to bother you last week. Figured you were busy. Did you survive the storm with little damage? Been wondering. I guess my friends on Long Island got slammed also.
