Hi Everyone!

My name is Ted and I have just bought my 3rd BMW Z3.
I must be getting old since I keep coming back to this car time and time again! It's just the perfect Roadster shape!

My first Z3 was exactly the same model as I have now, but a 2000 2.0 model in Imola red with the wide body and V6 engine.
Unfortunately, I was young and foolish and bought that car using 6 credit cards and the repayments became unaffordable after 9 months so I had to sell it back to the dealership!

My second Z3 was a black sapphire metallic and a 2.8 (my favourite engine size and a beast!) that I bought in 2007 but sold after a year or so due to a faulty auto gearbox. At the time, I was lusting after a Ferrari 355 Convertible Kitcar, so regrettably sold it and then went through a long period of trying out other cars.

Fast forward to 2018 and I spent an awful lot of time pining for another Z3 and a month ago, when my trusty but boring Golf Mk IV died, I trawled eBay and Autotrader for the perfect Z3 and finally pulled the trigger on my Japanese Import Estoril Blue 2000 Z3 2.0.

I've had many issues with this car, kicking off with insurance. Seems like many if not almost all insurance companies refuse to insure this care for me and in the end I had to get specialist insurance for it and pay a premium! Grrr!

Anyway, I've been rapidly fixing it up with the help of two friends (I replaced the window regulator slider guides today, along with the seat bushes) and it's starting to come together.

The only thing I have been unable to source is a set of chrome roll bars (individual ones, not the ones that have a crossbar in between).
I had the separate chrome roll bars on my original Imola red 2000 Z3 (I think they cost me an arm and a leg at the time - could have been the AC Schnitzer ones come to think of it!) and those are the ones I want again.

I saw a set go for £105 on eBay in November just before I bought the car and I wished I snapped them up!
I would have if I knew they were that difficult to source!

Anyway, I joined this forum as I love reading post from enthusiasts like myself and i am ALSO hoping that one of you guys out there can help me source a pair of individual chrome hoops for my Z3!
They were my favourite mod, even though they weren't made by BMW!

Lovely car! Insurance companies are so cheeky on these cars, just grabbing a premium for any reason!

Post some pics up!
