The M cars nowadays use the standard engines anyway so its all about the handling and engine tuning.

No, The 440i & 240i users the new B58 engine - the M2 has a modified N55

There are two rummers of new M2's coming with the B58 & S55 engines

But the M3/M4 have an S55 engine.
