Friendly banter between sites on the whole. My 2.0 started doing just what you're describing and it was the inlet cam position sensor failing.

Agree friendly and helpful members, quite a lot of us are on both so cover all bases.

glad the car is sorted, sometimes as the engine gets hotter it finds the fault in sensors so could be the senor is on it's way out.

Do I detect a slight rivalry between them? Or is it all in good fun? Its just I read a thread that refers to the "Dark Side"??
There was some animosity directed towards this site in the very early days when we launched, but as far as I know nothing that lingers today. The "dark side" was what we were initially branded, but it seems to have been flipped the other way over the years.

My take on it was. Net for technical stuff and . Org for more social affairs?
Not at all, we have some incredibly knowledgeable people on here - the technical sections and progress threads we run are well worth a read through. The ZedShed projects I've been involved with have been exceptionally useful to a lot of owners for breaking down the anxiety of working on their own cars.

We do however take life a little less seriously than other sites, and that's what makes the community spirit all the better here than most other places. Of course it all comes down to personal preference, but we have a pretty unique feel here and people seem to really enjoy it. We have our spats every now and then, no site is ever 100% perfect ;)

Oh no... Imagine your wife leaving you for a little bald guy in an orange robe... Sneaky b*****s them monks :bored:
More bothered about the wife driving my car around as she can barely reach the pedals bless her :D but she did take my car in for an mot while I was away.

Regarding your rev dropping issue have you checked all the vacuum hoses as a little split can throw a few gremlins, afraid you have to get In there and take some off to inspect properly. Was your new cam sensor a oem one as pattern ones of these are no good from what I've seen and people end up buying twice.

I was probably reading an old thread and stumbled upon some light sparring between forums... I've so far enjoyed both and I will most definitely delve deeper into the archives... Seems like with my luck so far (dodgy sensors) im going to have to

Not had a new sensor fitted yet but will definitely consider a genuine oem if the price is not astronomical... Could you post a link to the thread about dodgy pattern cam sensors please? Anyone? ...looking forward to getting it running nice and hopefully I can meet a few of you at Shepshed.

Not as yet Bob... It's pretty standard, although I believe it had quite a few of the sport options when new...everything in fact a aside from the sport bumper/grill.

You do not necessarily need to get an OEM part from BMW, although that's the best option, but if you go for aftermarket items make sure you ask for "OEM Quality" parts.

Hi... I'm new here and a recent owner of a Titansilber 3.0. I have to admit I'm not a huge fan of social media but there is obviously purpose and a common interest here.. I'm not what anybody would consider a "petrol head" but I have always admired the Z3, even in its skinnier form back in the day and now I'm well and truly hooked! I live in the Northampton area and would be very keen to hear from fellow Z3 owners in my neck of the woods.

Like most I'm waiting for summer to start so the top can come off. Not much that isn't standard on my zed so no pics yet, I've got a few ideas how I might enhance it in future but for now its great as it is.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
Welcome from Warwickshire
