Righty ho,, after renewing our passports as they had expired 10 years ago, im on a bit of a mission at the moment. Away to canaries on Tuesday, Turkey in May, Hopefully Cuba next sept, but need something for January LOL (i know)

anyhoo,,, wheres nice to go for a week, starting say 2nd Jan. Needs to have things to do and either pool or beach, shopping for the gaffer.

Would consider most places, but not spending a fortune, circa £1500 or so, needs to be warm tho

January then try the Gambia. Great people and very warm. Hotels on the beach and the local ground staff will probably bring you fresh coconuts during the day. Can take a mini safari to Senegal wont break the bank either. Monkey park to walk through vultures to see. We went in March 2013 and at some time will go back again

lanzarote for me.. in january to escape the crappy british weather... i cant wait...2 weeks 1st week in puerto del carmen then a ferry to fuertenventura for the 2nd week yay bring it on

Yes but it gets bloody cold at night. I have been to Malaga area in January and is nice and warm during the day then about 4 degrees at night. Can not use the pool as it never really warms up during the day

Come to Tasmania as it is the height of our summer. Many beaches and great places to visit. You can base yourself from our house near Hobart for free You will have to hire a car though.
