I have had a look at my car and cleaned out the ICV and while putting the car back together noticed the first rubber hose from the maf has a few small splits where it joins the extra little box bolted to the air box, I was silly and never looked for a part number so do any of you guys know this number?
when I look on e-bay going by the car i.e a 2.2i it comes up with a part that looks different in the fact that there is no extra pipe for the bit attached to the air filter but if I look for a air inlet pipe the ones for a 2.3 and 2.5 ect look like the right part
Help please its doing my head in, pity as I was planning on going out Thursday but getting a part before then looks unlikely :(

p.s its a 2.2 :p

Put the last 7 digits of your vin into realoem.com and you will find the correct part number

put my vin in and looked for the part number and it does say 13541705209 but if you look at the picture its not got the extra large hose that plugs into the box on the airfilter and in the advert it states its for cars with out ASC+T but I guess mine has that and that's what the extra tube is for..... so the VIN part number must be wrong or I'm loosing my mind :(
help!

Sorry zedonist I disagree here's the pic of ours with the BMW bag same as yours above.

Edit you just posted before me but they are both same pic. second pic is the lower section and the part number for mine is for the 3.0 bigger throttle body.

I just posted the pictures off realoem Brian, the first part number comes up for 2.5, 2.8 & 3.0 and the second picture is from realoem for a UK 2.2, yours has a third part number by the bag.

My advice would be to go to the BMW dealer as the price will be the same or cheaper than ebay.

Yes that's the elbow, I would still go to BMW direct, get the right part, try Sopers on here they are good guys, good price and delivered to your door.

Ok so had to take the hose back off to find the part number as everywhere had it listed wrong so just as a record so people know if you have ASC+T on your car the actual part number is 13.54-1435625 (just remove the dots and dashes ;)) that's the first part from the MAF, that may help someone one day, also looking at the hose it looks perfectly fine but when the large hole is pushed over the extra box attached to the airbox it has cracks and splits in the rubber so maybe worth a look just remove the pipe with the airbox attached :)
anyway cheers peeps :)

The 2.2i doesn't have ASC+T, it's an M54 motor, so has DSC. Unless that's what you mean, in which case I shall get back in my box. :)

I have no idea :p, that's the only option I could find to explain the extra box on the airfilter by looking online :)

Just out of interest anyone know what the extra little box does or how it works? its not on real OEM and also does not ever show the correct part for that part number here is what it looks like with the extra big hole for that odd little box :)

Had the same problem with my 2.2, went to the "local" BMW dealer in Llandudno and asked for that hose with the extra bit and got told it can't be right as they list it for a 5 series (can't remember which one). Had to take the hose off in the carpark and show him the number before he'd believe me. Still none the wiser as to what the extra little box does, but that's what the car had on it. You could probably get away with fitting the pipe without the extra bit, can't see as it would make any difference. Perhaps they had some spare bits lying around at the factory and had to do something with them.
