At long last the North East of England have a group (on Facebook as BMW Z3 North East UK) and we got together on Saturday 6th August for our first run out. Starting at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland were the first group.meeting up with others at Hawthorn Services on the A19,

6 Z3s and one Z3+1 headed south through Tesside to pick up the final member for the day near Redcar, then along the coast road through Saltburn to Whitby. The town was heaving as we headed up to the Abbey car park.

It is traditional in the north to have Fish and Chips (and some would claim they are the best in the world) when in Whitby, however, with the crowds in the town spilling out onto the road we decided to give it a miss and head a few miles further down the road to the Hare and Hounds Pub where they had a nice grassy area (lawn) where we could all park whilst we took refreshments.

The group currently has 24 members so its looking good. Other Zorg members attending this run were @Davyhoogy, @Walrus and @Axelf and possibly others whose forum names I did not get. They took loads of better pics and some videos which they will hopefully add to this thread.

Another run in the near future is on the cards so we look forward to getting together again and welcoming others to the North East.(NB Z3+1s (4) are very welcome).

I lovely collection of cars and photos.
I had a lovely day in Whitby some years ago and have always thought how nice it would be to park at Zed near the church

Looks like another awesome group forming! Which one of you has the biggest garage? :P

Great idea guys, enjoy yourselves up there, looks like you all had a great day weather wise too.

Tony.

We'll be in Whitby in October. We'll be on our annual trip to York and we always have a drive up to Whitby via Goathlands

Always be a shame to miss out on Whitby fish and chips Dave, but even so a grand day out mate.

Whitby is a beautiful place :p
We stayed their a few years ago ;)
And the fish and chips are delicious :)
Glad you all had a great day ;)

Always good to get stuff sorted like this! Can't beat a drive out with like minded folks. Never been to Whitby. We keep saying will go but never get round to it.

The NE group are on Facebook and whilst there is not much happening at the moment we are all looking forward to 2017. Suggest you join to keep in touch with the locals.
My car is tucked up for winter whilst we get on with other projects and will be coming out with the sun in April ready for so more fun.

We'll be in Whitby next Tuesday. We're staying in York next week and have a few run outs planned. Will be in Scarborough on Wednesday if all goes to plan
