Why is it the English footballer hardly ever sing at the beginning of a game of football :p
Some of them don't sing at all :)
You see all the other teams singing happily away when their National Anthems are played ;)
I don't think they should play if they don't sing ;)
I think it's disrespectful to all the fans that are watching the game :)

Because most of them are to thick to be able to remember the words.....

Yes perhaps they think with their feet :p
And not their brain ;)

We should only be concerned if they were entering a singing competition. Our ability to sing does not affect anyone's ability to do any job other than sing.

Still think they should sing :p :)

They all say that they're proud to wear the three lions, they ought to show it by being proud enough to sing the national anthem, however badly. The captain should lead by example, or be shown up by the coach .

Tony.

Should be bellowed out by all players, in my opinion, irrespective of how poor they are at singing

You watch all the other teams ........ :p
They all sing very loud for the country they are playing for :)
Think our players should too ;)

Well said @Shelly  they all look as though they don't want to be there during the line up and they're so scared they have to be led onto the pitch holding the hand of a child .

Steve

As long as we get back on track by beating Wales on Thursday I don't care if they sing, cry or whistle Dixie. If I recall correctly there was only one English player whose lips didn't move during our national anthem while the camera was on him and that was Chris Smalling.
When the players came onto the pitch Jill said "lets see how many of them sing" and I only noticed one of our guys.

It's also a fallacy to say every other countries teams all sing heartily. Some do, some don't.

Top man is Guy and I love motor sport, period, and whilst F1 is my favourite sport by some distance, football at its best is just superb. Other views are available :)

As an aside, I'd cheer for England if there was a basket weaving Olympics.

Don't give a toss about football, hope Wales win...

Fancy a wager on the result of England v Wales next Thursday ?

If England win you buy my beer on the Euro trip and if Wales win I'll buy yours

Should have said you buy Jills beer coz she drinks like a Navvy

As my father is Welch ;)

You are going to be in trouble with your dad now if he reads that....;)

1857, racing slang, "to refuse or avoid payment of money laid as a bet," probably a disparaging use of the national name Welsh. Related: Welched; welching.
