Just open the window and keep the button held down for 15 seconds. Release the button, then close the window and hold the button up for 15 seconds. Release button and that should be it, unless there are other issues.
This worked on my E85 and my E89.

Tony.

She's a beaut! Which exhaust does it have? The windows just need reprogramming, there are plenty of guides on the net to follow. Usually forgets it's programming if the battery goes dead flat.

Tool kits and rolls can be bought from ebay, either as a whole or individually. PN's easy enough to find from realoem, then cross match the PNs with other models. I went with an aftermarket towing eye which works fine.

The cable in the glove box, is it an iPod connector in which case it's likely the factory iPod integration which is what mine has.
Thanks Gaz, really appreciate the comments. The exhaust is a bespoke hand made one, apparently from some guy who makes them for ferraris and Mazaratis. The intake btw is Eventuri.

For the windows I will try your fix @t-tony and if that doesn't work then some of the other suggestions in the knowledgebase and let you know. I have also started ordering the toolkit parts on ebay so at least that little bit will be complete (sad attention to detail I know !

Ok, good to know about the ipod connector - I got rid of my ipod years ago but have a connector that I use to still connect my Bose Sounddock to my iphone so I will try that.

I have also downloaded the brochures and put them in the file of receipts and service books etc :D

When I got my E89 last year there was no owner’s handbook. I looked on eBay and Amazon but they were all asking “new” money. So I got a new one from Sopers.

I had the same issue until I used the second procedure. It's a dim witted learning procedure, and I'd pretty much given up on it but eventually almost works perfectly. It works now for every window operation except returning the windows to the up position when putting the roof up using the factory key option. Put the roof down and it puts the windows back up, but not the other way. You won't have that issue though, tin openers are available!

All 4 work individually or all 4 together now on mine. The mysteries of motor cars eh?

Looks epic. The CSLs really improve the look of a Z4 Coupe.

I'll bet it goes like a train. I'll bet you enjoy finding out. :racecar:
Thanks Gary - yeah I like the CSLs to be honest, now just to make sure I dont curb them ! And yes it definitely goes like a train - maybe I will be able to chase one ;)

Ok, so here is the afore mentioned hooligan - Through a garage receipt and review I have already spoken to 1 previous owner, he put the intake, splitters, exhaust and CSLs on the car... I am sure someone else will probably know something about it too but this is the exciting part where I start to find out its secrets and make my own little changes and mods.

I have already ordered a short antenna, and the all important key ring 😄

So far the "issues" are:
  • Vanos Growl - Mr Vanos is booked in to come round early April and do Vanos, Oil Pump, Timing Chain and Shims.
  • Windows wont go up with one touch on either side? - Fixed the drivers side one by using @t-tony suggestion below - the passenger one was more tricky but was resolved using proceedure #2 from here https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15677
  • Missing tool kit? - Bag and tools ordered from ebay, thanks for the suggestion
  • Missing puncture repair slime - temp puncture repair kit ordered instead
  • Can't connect bluetooth - Ive tried getting the iphone to look for the car on immediate start up and I have pressed the button on the rear console door but it doesnt seem to put the car into pairing mode? - Now sorted thanks to many of the forum comments in the knowledgebase - wow all I will say is that it is a very particular pairing proceedure !! And boy do I miss touch screen technology!! Definitely time to cleanse my phone book!!
  • Previous owner has an old phone cable hanging down in the glovebox - I assume this must be connected to a power source somewhere behind the dash - any ideas if there is a hidden USB somewhere? - Thanks for the reply Gaz, apparently the old school ipod connection, shame I got rid of the old ipod years ago!
  • Rear M badge needs a colour refurb (I think I have one of acemans solutions in a drawer or I might have to replace the badge)
  • No halos on the headlights (is this normal? Is there an upgrade option) however the lights are very bright - much better than the OEM Z3 ones
  • No SatNav DVD - I think I need a "HIGH" maps dvd to resolve this - obviously a recent one - there are some on ebay and they talk about the compatability with the MK4 DVD unit in the car which I have checked.
I have also no idea what the "Sport" button does - it performs like a missle without pressing that!

Looking forward to seeing what other people have done to upgrade theirs. USB, charging points and phone holder being the first thing
Wow, wow, wow….. looks stunning, never worked out the sport button myself, it’s supposed to change the throttle map but as you say it’s a hooligan without it.
I also have a phone cable in my glove box but it the old iPhone type cable, an adapter to lightning connector allows me to connect my phone but I never do.

Please also think about con rod shells at some point if they’ve not been done.

congrats 👏

Thanks Brian - yeah I cant find anything regarding shells in the history so I fear that will be another expense - any recommendations for garages welcome. (Near Manchester ideally!)

Congrats that looks great, sits really well, has it been lowered or on coilovers? I believe the wheels are bbs rc rather then the bmw csl.
