I tjink you will need to remove tbe hard top (ignore this if you already have) raise the soft top and look at the sides behind the seats. If youre changing the shockers it would make sense to replace the rubber top mounts at the same time as they will be past their best by now even at low mileage.

Hi yes I do so I will upload one, also I would like to find out an easy way to replace the rear shocks as the top bolts are hidden behind the seats, any ideas please.
Hi yes the hard top is off for the summer, the problem I can see is removing the carpet trim that covers the area behind the seats, it would have been better if BMW had put in 2 removable covers to get to the top of the struts.

tried your suggestion about raising the soft top but when I do so it covers up the area I need to get at?

You have to lean over between the roll bars and rempve the plastic trim clips from the carpet, lift the carpet and all will be revealed.

ah I tried that, very little room, the carpet seems to be tucked under plastic trim b
