My wife came home in her E46 tonight and said "The car's steering wheel wobbling about when i go over 40 mph"

I had a quick look under the arch to find this, never seen this happen before

just showing the car is getting old now,

Oooh, just be thankful that hasn't snapped while cornering could have had disasterous results. Must admit not seen an anti-roll bar snap before but it looks like it has corroded where it is supported by the bush, relatively easy fix though.

Eeek! Glad she made it home tonight with that happening... #:-s

Looks like you will be busy checking out the rest of the underside for similar rust...

This surprised me, when I removed the two drop links tonight (that's all I had time for tonight)

They were a nightmare to undo the nuts but got them off

but looking at the broken bit i was surprised to see it was not a solid bar but a hollow tube.

And the other side looks as if it is ready to go.

IMHO it looks like it has had previous damage, as on the left hand side in the photo the break is showing rusty areas. :-?
