MV2 Owners? Grainy Alloys?

Grabbed a set of MV2's off Fleabay as think they suit the Z, looked ok in the advert but close up seem really er "grainy" is the only way I can describe them. Is it a case of they are all like that Sir, or do they need a refurb despite having no curbing?

Also despite going from 17" to 18" look at the gap on the rears! think I need to purchase some a lowering springs!

You're right, MV2s look great on Z3s but what a finish! That looks like a home refurb job using stonechip!! But they look fine from a distance!

Regarding arch gap... first, your arch gap is large partially due to just being jacked up. Bounce the rear of the car a few times and it'll start to settle but these cars do have big gaps in the arches as standard. And secondly - what profile is the tyre on the rear? It looks a lot shallower in the sidewall than the front. MV2s look great on 225/40 on the front and 255/35 on the rear, if they are a staggered set. And a smaller profile really does make the wheels look smaller and the arch gap look bigger.

The front in that pic still have the Alloy Style 18 on, I will sell the 18's and hopefully that will help cover the cost of getting these MV2's as they should be!

So that's good - you got the E46 version of MV2s as these are the best fit for Zs, and fitted with the correct size tyres.

The offsets are high on these wheels (47 and 50) so you could start with a 10mm spacer all round to help them sit flusher with the outside of the arches and not look quite so lost inside the arch.

But get them all fitted and go for a spirited drive for a few miles and the car will settle properly on the suspension and then you can decide if you want to drop the car. And lets face it - this would look amazing just an inch lower all round. HTH

Ditched the weighty spare while I was swopping the wheels over....crikey look at the state of it!...

Haha! hadn't thought of that but yes very possibly!...yes spacers next especially as this is the delicious widebody I'm thinking 10mm front and either 15 or 20mm at the rear..the car is getting there, suspension refresh ordered, new steering wheel from Royal, hood from Soft-tops at Croydon, clear front headlights and side markers arrived today. Will get it over to Walkers for a service and lookover. Gearchange into first still not right.

Back in the 90's me and friends used to load up the boot of our E30s with breeze blocks to lower it on the cheap!! You've just done the reverse!!
