Aged 97. Sad News indeed. The UK's premier motorsport commentator for decades and a National Institution.

I used to spend more time with Murray at the weekends than my ex-wife. Good old muddly squawker was a legend.

Very sad news, but what a life he has had though, for me he was Mr Motorsport. His commentaries of everything from motorcycle scrambling, rallycross to F1 were always worth listening to even when he got things wrong, that was part of the charm of the man.
RIP Murray, you'll have a bit of catching up to do with James.

If anyone is interested and can get Talksport 2 (only available with latest DAB radios & online), Danny Kelly's My Sporting Life interview with Murray Walker in 2012 is being broadcast a 7-00pm tomorrow (Monday). I listened to part of it last night, brilliant hearing him talk about his past life, WWII, Ayrton Senna, Damon Hill etc.

Yes a sad loss to a man well respected in the F1 community as the voice of F1 for so many years.

Update on the Murray Walker program, from the adverts on the radio this morning it sounds as though it will broadcast on Talksport, the program being called Press Box at 7:00pm. Sorry about that, I was listening to it on Saturday night on Talksport 2 and they gave the impression the repeat was on the same radio channel.
