Ah but when you get those SU's in tune they stay that way. I haven't touched mine now in over five years. Now points and timing - that's another issue.Having had a number of MGBs and midgets over the years, the main difference I have found is the build quality and most importantly lack of rust. Maintenance is more electronic related, but the fundamentals are much the same. Never quite got the hang of balancing twin carbs!

I have the 1.9 and love it wouldn't really need anything with more power as I mostly drive hiway but there are many different sized engines to choose from so enjoy whichever you choose, JIM
