Thanks for all of the welcomes. In the final throws of getting the Z, it's on the other side of the country and that's about a 4,800km drive.

Welcome Trevor!
The Zed 3 is the best "next level" for an oldtimer roadster fan! You'll enjoy it plenty!
And don't worry, (with metric tools) you'll manage perfectly the maintenance and repairs of the Zed!
Wish you good luck with the purchase!
Dan

Having had a number of MGBs and midgets over the years, the main difference I have found is the build quality and most importantly lack of rust. Maintenance is more electronic related, but the fundamentals are much the same. Never quite got the hang of balancing twin carbs!

Hi from St Georges, Mb!! Where are you in Canada? Hopefully close as there are no other Zeds up here. I have the 1.9 and love it wouldn't really need anything with more power as I mostly drive hiway but there are many different sized engines to choose from so enjoy whichever you choose, JIM

Ah but when you get those SU's in tune they stay that way. I haven't touched mine now in over five years. Now points and timing - that's another issue.

I'm just outside of Ottawa where our last five days of +30C temps crashed last night in a downburst (mini tornado) that has levelled a number of trees and torn off a few roofs. So don't think, I'll be up there cramping your style unless I decide to do a trip up to Wpg to visit mater.

Welcome, the Z will be better on your knuckles than one of Britains best. I hated those lever arm shockers & leaf springs.
