Finished the searing yesterday had most of the harvest so I phoned my most gullible friend and asked him I he fancied a bike ride. We have a mountain locally called cadair Idris it's a beauty. I've cycled up it before and its epic,my buddy has never been so he didn't know what to expect but hes half my age and has an electric bike lol.iv wanted to ride it all year and been to busy and no training and poor weather so we just went for it. Its only 18k but its brutal from the start according to by sons Garmin that I borrowed I lost 2.5ltr of sweat and my heart rate went up to176 it almost went down to zero lol took us 4.5 hours with recovery stops for me and a sausage roll and melted wine gums at the top

That looks great Hugh, with stunning views, well done to you both

Fantastic effort. I love riding in Wales but don't get up there often enough these days. Used to head through Carno on the way up to Coed-y-Brenin forest.

I do rember going up there as a child, is that Brecon Beacons'ish ? I remember that lake.

Couldn't do it now - wouldn't get past the village pub - hats off to you ! Thats another very pretty part of the world . . .

Yes so lucky with so many epic places to ride ,my bike is 20 years old less than a third of my age I’m seriously thinking of an electric if I want to keep doing this ,if you passed though carno you passed our door lol

Well done Hugh, the state my knees are in just now I struggle walking to the pub ...... and it's 50yrds from my front door

My bad. Brecon Beacons was the Sugar Loaf, just across the bridge from Bristol, did that many times. Cader Idris was near Dolgellau, several very happy summer holidays there. Both are lovely parts of the world . . .

I've ridden Lord Hereford's Knob before too 😂 😂 😂 😂 🚵‍♂️
