A few hours in Mount Dora, going via the 429 and showing some of the many building developments on the way. Also some of the huge arrays of solar panels along the sides of the roads.

In the garage where we parked I spotted this old Trans Am. Didn't see the Bandit though.

Really? My mistake. Yes, it's a beautiful place. In parts it reminded me of Tarpon Springs and also parts of the Keys.

Guess I should've asked Google first Chris before thinking I knew.=))
Found this

Please don't tell me "The Snowman" is really Father Christmas. =))=))

Tony.

ps. I'm eastbound and down, well next week.

Tony got to say I was really disappointed :( :( :whistle:.

Started reading your thread going through your great pictures ( weather looks great most jealous) so thumbing through your travels waiting for a picture of the mountain ⛰ 😀
and it it wasn't there Mount Dora has no mountain 😭😭.

:whistle:=))=))=))

Great pictures Tony :thumbsup::thumbsup:

That's Florida, the highest place is 100 ft above sea level so any little lump is a mountain.

Me and my wife Linda both went to Mount Dora a few years ago now, great little place. If memory serves me right we went into the English Tea Rooms, for some tea and toasted tea cakes!
It was by some water or lake I think.

The highest point in Florida is close to Mt. Dora, if memory serves me right I think it’s called Sugar Loaf Mountain and as Mike said it’s only about 100ft above sea level. The Clermont area is one of the hilliest parts of the state.

Tony.

ps. There is no mountain but there’s a big lake where seaplanes operate from.

Funny seeing all those solar panels along the 429—took a drive last month and spotted a huge setup by fotovoltaika Raylyst Solar. Had to pull over and take a few pics, just wild how much sun they’re capturing. The new buildings popping up around Mount Dora made it feel like the area’s growing fast.
