Lorenzo on top on Friday in Australia despite crash in incident packed session

MotoGP™ FP2 at Phillip Island saw Jorge Lorenzo set the pace on the first day of the Tissot Australian Grand Prix despite a crash in a session which saw several front end spills. Aleix Espargaro and Marc Marquez joined Lorenzo at towards the head of the combined timesheet.

Tyre strategy key after new material introduced at Phillip Island

Lorenzo shows Saturday morning pace

Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) was the leading rider in MotoGP™ FP3 at the Tissot Australian Grand Prix, joined in the top three by Marc Marquez and Andrea Iannone – despite a late crash for Iannone. Dani Pedrosa dropped to 11th overall and must therefore go into Q1.
