Not leaving until work is done at DMWORX then an 30 seconds drive back to the MOT centre
Must be a world record for the longest day trying to achieve a MOT pass :p

Another years motoring ! Suggest you now remove all the inner arch covers and remove all the mud. Then wire brush everything and then a coat of aquasteel to turn all the crusty metal metal a nice black colour.

Had mine serviced a few weeks ago and they found and cleaned up corrosion on brake pipes. Said it's a common problem on BMWs, more so than other makes. Not sure if that's true and if so,why?

No more true of Beemer than any other make as far as I know. Surface corrosion removed with LIGHT wire brushing and coating with (I use copper grease) something to preserve them. Definitely a BAD idea to rub with emery paper or a stiff wirebrudh as you don't know how thin you are making the tube wall. Brake pipe replacement is a cheap job, or should be not worth risking your life for a few £££

Tony.

You got a good job done there with those brake pipes.

The cynical me says it was that good because you were live streaming the event. I'm sure he makes pipes that close to the original shape for all his customers.

(I use copper grease)
Gonna call you up on this one Tony.
That is not a preservative its just to make connection make up smooth due to the copper compound.
Used buckets of the stuff in the oil & gas biz....
