An update on things here at the Shed, one thing I made for my table saw was a "cross cut" sled, makes more likely that you keep all your fingers especially when cutting small pieces of wood or plastic. A push stick is also a good idea for the same reasons.
I also made quick mitre gauge for use in either mitre slot, the slots are not equi distant from the blade so need a guide strip on both sides.
This was useful making the base of the trellis to shield the new oil tank.
A couple of saddle clamps for the fence for "stopped" cuts on the table saw.
A jig to hole round objects for drilling.
The trellis round the oil tank looks like this.
A new security light went up after a rash of local shed break ins.
The stool tops you know about (waiting on collection).
A new work table top (on wheels) on what used to be my engine dropping trolley.
3 coats of matt light Oak varnish (cos that's what we had
)
Endless jobs on the Jimny.
The latest being rear brakes, with the n/s soaked in gear oil as the axle seal had failed. So it's new shoes, cylinders and n/s half shaft oil seal (waiting on seal arriving).
Beginning of the week it was o/s/f kingpin bearings and wheel bearing, track rod end jam nut and both front brake hoses. Need to top up front axle oil still.
Kingpin bearing outer shell. So much play it had b******* the big grease seal at the rear of the hub.
Still, keeping my hand in on using mechanics tools.
Also fitted DAB radio and aerial. Removed a hideous light bar off the front of the roof.
It was pretty in Pink, but decided better in red. Full mopping.
Tony.
