Missing piece on my intake manifold

If you know someone with access to a lathe, a replacement could be easily made to the pattern of an existing piece, from plastic, aluminium or brass, so long as there woulkd not be a risk of it being ingested into the engine.

Its function is to accelerate the intake air when the throttle is almost closed, so increasing turbulence and slightly improving combustion. I doubt if you could tell the difference with one missing anyway.

It will be a 2.8 M52TU or 3.0 M54. My guess is a 1999 MY or 2000 2.8.

The missing bit is a guide tube for the secondary air supply, basically an emissions thing. It doesn't really matter but it would annoy me not being there. A manifold will be cheap, shared with an E46 328i or E39 528i from 9/98 build.

If it's a 2.8, buy yourself a 3.0 manifold and an adaptor to fit the 2.8 throttle body, and win yourself another 15 bhp or so.
