I have a 1998 z3 2.8 which I have had from new. Currently, I am looking for new exterior mirrors as the spindles broke when the mirrors were removed for a re-spray last summer.

If you can find second hand units, ideally in the same colour as your car that would be great.
Or you can buy the internal metal components made of plastic, so you don’t have any further problems.
Have a look on eBay.

Hello and welcome to the forum. I'd just change the internals. Think they are around £100 a side for the plastic ones

I have replaced both of mine with resin ones from Ebay.the are pretty good and was £90 per side, make sure you order the correct ones as they also sell left hookers as well

Hi, welcome from Mansfield

I broke both mine on my Silver ‘97 Z3, when I was trying to fold them in when putting a winter cover on :(

So I got some of the X8R resin ones

Got them sprayed up, swapped over the wiring, motor, casing and mirror. Now no worries about rusting or seizing up
