Not sure if anyone would be up for this but Carrie and I have booked Premier Inn in Dumbarton for the Thursday night, its only 3.5 hours from Lockalsh but looks like there is a bit of a nice detour along the coast and do the Trossacks on the way back

Not planning a run to Dumarton mate, just from Dumbarton to Lockalsh on the Friday, its about 5 hours for us to Dumbarton so will be leaving mid morning I would think

Was just playing it all by ear Sean see who was doing what as one way or another you all have to drive north past us .
Going by what you are talking about I would probably plan my side something like this.
If a few of you end up there and then are doing a sort of sight seeing journey north then I reckon @andyglym Andy will be travelling Friday straight up as he is northern England so think I would tie up with him the we would meet up with you guys somewhere like Fort William and do the last section together.
That would let you plan a sightseeing route from Dumbarton to Fort William and Andy and I would take the direct route through Loch Lomond side over Rannoch moor and through Glencoe to meet up .

Dumbarton is about 30-45 minutes from where I'll be staying and it's on my route, so no problem meeting up.

I have just realised that I have a pre arranged family outing on the Thursday so will have to cancel this. See you all on Friday evening at Kyle of Lochalsh.

Here's the route that I'm planning to do. It's very similar to the suggested route, except I will be doing Duke's Pass in each direction. if the road is clear, if it's not.

TomTom ITN to hotel from Erskine

TomTom reckons 5½ hours from Dumbarton Premier Inn. I'll be there at around noon.
