middle lane hoggers

You have to remember Dave (and I understand you being defensive) but you still get total tossers driving HGV's same as you get them in cars, not all HGV drivers are sympathetic to other roads users or particularly good drivers, "some" are in fact stupid and dangerous, though in my experience these are mostly foreign HGV's
Yep totally agree Niall but it seems the norm to keep singling the lorry drivers out. The amount of stupidity just today alone that I've seen on the roads from a mixture of both is scary. Just stating a point.

There are a lot of t..ts out there, probably in equal measure on foot,on bikes, motorbikes, cars and lorries. Unfortunately we can't change them so it's best when driving to stay calm and assume that every other road user is quite likely to do something unexpected or just plain stupid.
When I see these people (everyday) I'm thinking how nice it would be if I was driving an unmarked police car.:D

And another thing........
Fog lights on when not foggy

And another....
Silver cars with no lights on when it is foggy.

And another....
Not indicating at roundabouts

And another ....
Turning right at islands and not indicating until leaving the island (WTF use is that to anyone?)

:D

With you on the roundabout indication, or lack of

Just to underline the issue... The M3 off slip junction to the A34.. yet again this weekend a nasty accident involving a truck, van and car... guess what... The car cut in late even though the signs were saying 40 mph traffic on slip road.. boom... cut in on the van and HGV.. they take a lot longer to stop.. keeps happening as people will not pull over and wait like the majority to exit the M3. I am sure @Grumps knows this junction well as I am sure @Redline will too.

They are going to reduce the accidents at this junction... ohhh no.. they are going to consider a revised layout.. when the time is right..:mad:

No indication at roundabouts?
Another thought here is that I'd prefer they didn't indicate rather than indicate incorrectly.

@G4FUJ The ones that indicate off and then keep coming round you mean...

I know I've used that junction but it's not one I remember.
M1 Jn21 southbound is similar but then it happens at many motorway and dual carriageway exits.
What can be done to stop it?
Have the police single out and direct offenders back on to the motorway for another junction might teach a few.

Know it well mate

Yeah, I just got back from a weekend in Torquay, rain and sleet everywhere, doing 70+ people p*** past you and then slow down so they cover your car and windscreen in crap so you can’t see, why? Just bloody go!
Don’t even want to talk about the crap lorries throw up!

Grumps not singling out lorry drivers but i use the M6 every day sometimes i get HGV washing my rear screen until i move out of the way and im pushing it at 53mph and im very courteous to all HGVs cos they the back bone of the country ( deal with them every day at work ):)

Roundabouts with lane markings why don't people use them rather than try and straightline them?

I like the helpful HGVs who flash to say I've gone past them and safe to pull in when towing the caravan. This is the majority as well.

Motorway drivers who cannot maintain speed. Driving along on cruise and faster than car in front so pull out and when I draw level they accelerate.:rage:. After doing it 3 times I tend to have a faster 5 mins to get away from them.

Auto boxes with stop/start restart as soon as you take your foot off the brake so cannot use the handbrake at traffic lights.
On BMW boxes though if you press the P button and then take your foot off the brake engine stays off. When lights go to Amber foot on brake pull lever back to put it in Drive, the car starts, and foot off brake when clear and off the car goes. Simples.

Honda Jazz drivers who turn left into a side road at 1 mph !!

People who haven't cleared the snow from their cars and leave a blizzard behind them and those we will see tomorrow morninng who only clear a small bit of their windscreen off frost.

My pet hate is still people using the right turn lane to cut up the left and straight on lane at the only roundabout on my journey to work. Local woman does it EVERY morning just because she has a V6 Audi diesel with plenty of grunt.

Tony.

Yup. And the other way about - still indicate right as they take the exit where I am joining...

Motoring on todays’ road is entirely dependant on what you’re driving. On my bike and in a smart car, I gave way to every thing, as too vulnerable,.........In my 66 plate Kia Rio, I tend to be considerate....don’t want it damaged, but in my Z3 I have become a true BMW driver.....catch me if you can !!!!!!! :ymdevil::ymdevil::ymdevil:=))

my favourite thing with middle lang hoggers is to slowly overtake them, move across to the inside lane, slow down and repeat.

essentially doing laps around them

my record is 5 laps!

i only do this late at night as lots of my driving for work is done after 7pm
