just a nice rant :mad: about motorway manners, why do people just drive in the middle lane on an empty motorway and cause just so much c*** ?
this morning on the way home down the M6 (j19 to 16 ) car park poor viability due to snow had one in the middle lane then to my surprise moved to the outside lane causing havoc then again tonight coming into work through another blizzard had the same, with that and the HGV drivers that don't know what 50mph is makes it not the best journey into work :(:(

Yep this also winds me up as well and people on dual carriage ways in the outside lane whilst the inside is completely clear .

Also more noticeable now it's dark earlier, people sat stationary at traffic lights etc, with their foot planted on the brake pedal, blinding me sat behind them. Don't they have hand brakes any more ? :meh:.

There are a lot of Auto's out there mate.;) In Florida there doesn't appear to be any lane "etiquette" like here and traffic does seem to move better?

Tony.

My auto cr-v have on the foot brake at lights otherwise give peoples the jeebies as I go through box and reverse is first.

I realise that but an auto can be left in drive with the hand brake on surely ?.
In Florida they have free ways, which is what we may as well have here. At least that way if you undertake a middle lane moron you don't get points and a fine .

Very true Mark and that's why people with an auto usually sit with the brake on. Me included.

Tony.

I used to put my auto into N and then used the hand brake.
The reason being I had read that standing waiting in D with your foot on the brake puts pressure on the box.
And doesn't it warp the brake discs if you're sat with the foot brakes on ?.

Yep really gets me too, overtake them in the inside lane and give them the BIRD! (yes I know technically its illegal but its very satisfying ;):);):):thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:)

With the Smart Car I had, you had to use the hand brake because as soon as you were stood still the car would roll backwards, foot on the brake or not. (Semi-Auto)

It night if you have a sticking calliper but otherwise I don't see how it could do that?

Tony.

TBH if you're waiting at a traffic light I would agree it can be a nuisance but in continually crawling stop/start traffic I'll continue doing what I'm doing.:)

Tony.

They hog the middle lane because the SAT NAG has not told them to move over to the bloody left... you ignorant t**t...

I believe that in the more modern auto boxes there is a pressure relief circulation pipe for that reason?

I agree, in crawling traffic it can't be avoided mate ;).
Getting a bit concerned now as it looks like I may have offended my Torksey terror mate :nailbiting:......you know I loves you really :shy:.......even if you have half blinded me =)).

I'm getting a bit p*****, everytime there is a thread about roads on here lorry drivers get a slating! Most cars drivers need to take a good look at themselves. Not entering motorways correctly is a major bug bare for me. Car drivers just think we can shift a 65ft lorry across to suit there speed! It doesn't work like that, read the highway code! Cars sitting doing 40 in lane 1 through road works causing back logs.........need i go on! :rage::rage:

You have to remember Dave (and I understand you being defensive) but you still get total tossers driving HGV's same as you get them in cars, not all HGV drivers are sympathetic to other roads users or particularly good drivers, "some" are in fact stupid and dangerous, though in my experience these are mostly foreign HGV's

As an ex-HGV driver I quite agree with both of you.
Even occasionally get it with blue light drivers (though not seen it under blue light conditions).
We can all make mistakes. If nothing else, regular reminders of the Highway Code should be mandatory :)
I could go on, but I've just broken my soap box on another forum...=))

The biggest issues from most drivers is a lack of patience and consideration, more of James Mays "Christian Motoring" needed. We've all been guilty at some point or another .......... aaaaaaaaaaand relax :D

Oh, bloody Audi, Mercedes, Porsche, Renault, Citroen, Ford, Vauxhall, Peugeot, etc etc drivers get right up my hooter, cab drivers, truck drivers, bus drivers, cyclists, pedestrians should all stay at home
