Nearly that time of year peeps. A few things to remember;

- Check your tree lights
- Never leave them plugged in at night or when not in the house
- Be careful where you place candles, keep away from curtains etc and always extinguish at night and before you go out
- Most fires start in the kitchen, be careful to not leave cooking unattended
- Check your smoke alarms, 2 minimum and at the top and bottom of the stairs
- Close all doors at night to provide a safe escape in the event of Fire
- Plan your escape, especially for visitors
- Don't "daisy chain" or overload extension leads or sockets
- Always uncoil extension leads to allow heat to dissipate
- Don't let your little'uns put their mobiles under the pillow at night, they can catch fire
- Don't leave phone chargers etc plugged in when not in use, they can cause a fire
- If you get caught in a fire in your room block the door surrounds with towels etc, get to the window and screem fire (this is also a good call for women who get attacked whilst out, people respond to "Fire")
- Don't leave E-Cig chargers on charge unattended or at night, they can and do explode and cause a fire
- Get out, Stay out, call the fire brigade out!
