I'm sure there are a number of you who enjoy watching the Collecting Cars website on a regular basis making virtual bids for those dream cars. I was particularly interested (but not in a bidding way) to see how this SLK fared given that it was deemed a direct competitor in terms of price and performance to my own Z3M back in 2002. Indeed I recently picked up via EBay a nice copy of Autocar from 2002 in which the two cars were compared in detail. At a sold price of just over £8000 the Mercedes is seemingly now well under the value of a comparable S54 Z3M - indeed the M is now possibly more than three times as valuable! I wonder why? The SLK looks a fantastic buy given performance etc. For a moment I even considered switching into the Mercedes and pocketing the difference. But then I saw sense!!!!

I used to own an slk32 agree a great looking car but I didn’t like it. It was very quick but not sporty the steering is worm and roller and felt very non responsive I much prefer my 2.8 z3 it’s not anywhere near as quick but feels sportier and more rewarding to drive.
