So not to hijack the thread "So why did you go for a ZED?"

I have started this as i noticed that a few members have / had one

Personally i did not get on with mine as said here

My story

I changed job, lost company wheels and had to get something as the wife used the other car daily

so bought this

after a list of problems the head gasket went, "that's it i am selling it" i said to the wife, after only 2 months of ownership

speaking to a friend on the phone, he said look at z3's , i can't afford one of them i said

that weekend i bought this £2500 45,000 miles full service history

This is it coming out the garage we bought it from

And the rest is history
I should have known as i use to drive with them in the Triumph

even then the tell tail signs were there that they were not the bomb proof car that they clam

Just glad i have the Z3 now

Loved the MK1 Stevie.

My MK 2.5 in the South of France, Oh and the not so exotic Spurn Point...sorry for the little thread hijack folks, it wont happen again!

I had one problem with mine during ownership, & it was a BIG one.

We set off one evening to meet up in Leeds to plan a national meet. I got approx 2 miles from home when I heard an awful grinding noise from the rear end. Initially I thought it was a brake problem, but it got worse to I turned around & headed home.
I arranged for a full break down lift, & the car was taken to JCT 600 in Bradford.

The problem? the rear LSD had NO oil in it, it was completely dry!!.
It was replaced under warranty (£1,000 bill), but I never got a satisfactory explanation for how it became devoid of oil.

The other annoying problem I had was the one common to the 2.5, the dreaded clutch judder. It wasn't there all the time, so I just put up with it until I eventually sold it.

Those problems aside, I have not driven a car that comes close to matching the handling of the car.

The new one looks much more better than the previous model, but the shapes are too futuristic, which is good for the new generation , but not to me. I like very much the retro style the designers adopted for the new Z4, Aston, Wiessmann,.....

Like to see it in the flesh first HT before I make my mind up.

The new one would be better with a bit more power if they've planned that.

So I bet you guys like the new one then?
I didn't at first but its growing on me, maybe if the Z becomes uneconomical to maintain, and I don't go with the Z4, or the Z5.
