Say hello to Maycee
The latest member of the mrscalex Zed family.
She'd recently been up on ebay and got bid up beyond my budget. I'd been to see her last week as she was local and amazingly I was the only person who actually bothered looking. But the ebay sale fell through and the owners were kind enough to contact me and offer her to me and I couldn't say no.
She's a local car and has only done 73k miles with 3 previous owners. She's very well cared for.
There are some obvious issues like the clutch release bearing (well that's what it sounds like) and a bodged in rear window. But generally she's lovely and comes with original BMW CD player, air con and electric roof. So a good spec too.
I've decided to keep a pool of 3 cars. One in Swindon, one in Swansea and one in the workshop. So Maycee will be going to live in Swansea while Trudy comes back to Swindon for some gearbox/propshaft related work.
I think she's going to be a keeper so I plan to do a very high level of prep on her over a 2 year period.
So we'll probably take the engine/gearbox out together to do the clutch. And respray the engine bay like we did with Cookies. Maycee hardly needs it compared with most Z3s but this feels like the one worth making all the effort for so I'm going to take everything I've learnt and make her sparkle
