M54 Intake boot?

Hello All,

On my most recent MOT it was noted that the lower intake boot was starting to deteriorate. I was quoted £150 to replace and fit, (which seems a lot). I see that the Mishimoto upper and lower silicone intake tubes are no longer available.

Does anyone know of another alternative? Or indeed the best place to source both boots (ebay only seems to list the upper boot).

Thanks!

cost to replace is approx 1.5 hr of your time if you are a bit pratically minded or contact one of the local zedsheds for some assistrance.

Those part numbers are for the 3.0 which is different to the 2.2 The 2.2 upper hose is 13541435625 - realoem shows the wrong part as it doesn't have the elbow for the resonator box.

The lower hose is 13541435627 for a 2.2.

It sounds like you've been quoted 1.5 to 2 hours of labour as a genuine part is £30. It's a bit fiddly to do but a garage should be doing it in 30 minutes. Us mere mortals maybe 60 mins.

Ebay actually has lots of options, albeit non-genuine if you put 13541435627 in search. However this is one area I wouldn't recommend copy parts. They are not much of a saving and can be stiff, slightly misfitting.

Btw replace both hoses at the same time if finances allow. If one is rotted the other usually is too. The upper hose is also about £30. But the labour should be identical as the upper hose has to be removed too anyway.

different boots/hoses for M52 and M54 as mrscalex says different between m54 3.0 and 2.2.

Many thanks All. I shall order both new parts from BMW and fit myself.

Those part numbers are especially useful.

Hi, did you order the parts from bmw in the end? How much were they? I bought the upper duct from gsf and it’s the wrong part as it doesn’t have the connection for the resonator box.
