With the relay in place is there power going to the plug you have zip tied?
Going to have to check it from a cold start if it only gets power for 30 secs.
If there is power try attaching a 12v bulb to it to give it a load to mimic the presence of an air pump, maybe its looking for something thats not there?

Thanks chaps. Appreciate offer @t-tony but I have samples here. I'm just reluctant to pull the DME wiring back out to check but I may have to.

I may have to break the multimeter out. But surely it's something along those lines @colb and it's misleading the DME.

My clutching at straws option is to reset the adaptations in case. I want to do this anyway with the replacement engine. But would rather not confuse things by doing it for this reason. And I suppose I do need to reset the adaptations for the replacement engine? I posted a thread on that to get views.
