Changed the oil and filter today. Once I had refilled I set about the fuel filter under passenger side. The 3.0,2.5 and 2.2 have 3 pipes and a vacuum pipe as the pressure regulator is part of the filter. On mine the vac hose had perished and had cracked on the bend. Worth checking as seems to run better now the vacuum is connected again.
Not a great deal of dirt in the filter but it had been changed at some time as the jubilee clips were damaged.

You can often tell a fuel filter which has been neglected, as when you remove it, it's very heavy, indicating a fiar amount of crap contained within it.

Tony.

Excellent work Brian i had thought about checking mine out. Do you take any photos

Sorry no didn't but easy enough to do best with a set of ramps to get clearance to reach under the car and a container to catch the fuel from the filter. Remove the 2 fuel pump fuses and start the engine to get rid of the pressure in the fuel lines. Also takes a while to refill once the ignition is turned back on

Had mine done this week and the vacuum pipe had perished also.
Might be worth checking your own if you are reading this.
My car is 14 years old .........
