It is there - its something I've always been aware of on gear changes. I think that as you get the bigger problems sorted you eventually start to focus down on the smaller issues! Yes, single vanos.

A further observation that on "very" high powered cars, shutting the throttle and inducing engine braking too violently can cause the vehicle to lose traction readily and spin. Especially on non-dry surfaces. Could the gradual engine slow-down be a programmed-in safety feature?
