Hi all, looking at getting the M50 manifold upgrade done, as I would like that bit more power .However, as I'm the 7th owner of the 1998 2.8 Z3, I want to make sure it actually wasn't already done! Is there any way of checking this out? I don't want to buy all the parts and then find out it was already done!

Thanks

You could try checking the serial number on the DISA unit and see what cars it was found on, The Disa on the M54 manifold was different to the M52TU. Only 2 bolts to remove.

If you want to know if the m50 manifold had been done just Google m50 manifold and then look at your engine .

It will be very obvious if you have the m50 or m52 manifold as they look completely different

I'm aware that they look different .I just don't want to take everything out and realise it's already done, or realise it's not and put it all back together and then redo it again when swapping it out.

You can tell by looking at it, post a pic of your engine bay and we can see.
The M50 intake tubes are fatter and straighter.
The standard ones are curved by comparison.
Don’t have a pic to upload from my phone

You don't have to remove anything.

It's the whole inlet manifold

Just open your bonnet and look
