i did post this question in the m44 massive area, but seems no one appears to know, so i will ask here - has anyone done the coil pack conversion on either the m43 or m44

what benefit is there in doing this? 
its cheaper than replacing the oem unit, supposedly gives better throttle response though i dont really believe this.
If it provides a hotter spark it will cause a better fuel burn which May feel like better throttle response but I too doubt it really does much more than the stock item. JMO JIM
Yes I have Googled it a few times, I was hoping someone on here had done this then they could let me know how it went and if it has made any difference, there are quite a few 318 out there with the convertion done. Quite a few report improvements but then If they are replacing duff coil packs then yes it will feel like an improvement.
I agree @littlefeller otherwise why would they be changing anything. My experience is that most people that are happy with how their Zed or any other car is running don't take off good working parts just as an experiment and IF there's a real improvement an expensive way to find out. I for one would need real numbers showing a great improvement before switching!! JIM
