Looking at the two images the screwfix jack doesn't have the length reach of low profile which is why it's cheap. If that isn't a issue then screwfix jack is a good purchase
Also, the lifting point is somewhat agricultural on the screw fix jack compared to the Yankee one. The Yankee jack looks a whole lot more flexible - something you need when you're lifting on different shaped points on the car.

If your jacking points are good the reach shouldn't be an issue its getting it under in the first place that seems to be the struggle.

Agreed but 70 quid for a piece of rubber is extreme ! ;)

I've thought about asking a neighbour who owns an engineering company to turn a bit of rubber to slot in and fit my jack.

Thats designed to fit the slot in the jacking point and it seems universal they have it on a normal jack and a scissor jack on the listing.

I bought one from SGS Engineering. Cheap, robust and functional. http://www.sgs-engineering.com/top-sellers/tjl2-2-tonne-low-profile-trolley-jack. They have other options if this one does not suit. I use a ice hockey puck from Amazon to protect the jacking points.
That's just what I was going to use. We've collected several over the years. Go to watch ice-hockey and one will come flying in your direction sooner or later. Just never turn your back on the play but the pucks you catch are free

The jacking points on a Z are right on the sill, why would you need a long reach Steve? Once you've jacked the car enough to get a stand under the chassis, you can re-position your jack.:)

................... and Fanny's your Aunt. My brother has one down at his place but my drive would struggle to accommodate it. Shame.

I had a crap little halfords jack which i had trouble getting under the front of the sill to jack up on the lollipop and that was on a non lowered car. I bought those rubber pads that slot in the sill but lm not keen to do that. For speed l like to jack the rear up on the diff. The Sealey Yankee is good as it is long as well as being low and fast at lifting.. there seem to be a lot of identical ones available for around £120- £130 which although different makes l suspect are all the same jack from china and companies put their own identity on them.

On another note my brother works in an independent car spares shop and when he saw l had bought a Sealey he had a go at me because every Sealy jack he has sold has been returned within the 12 month warranty due to not staying up.. you live and learn so l just hope there was a dodgy batch and mine will be okay!!!
