No my Z3 will not be going, the plan is to build it up nicely and make it as track focused as I can!

So I've managed to get myself a job straight out of University and I'd like to set myself a car goal, so in about 6 months or so I can get something that doesn't have a dent in every panel. A big boy car if you will.

I'm open to any suggestions if there's a good options I've left it out. That being said I'm looking at a few cars already, must be manual and would love to be able to tinker with them.

First a BMW Z4 3.0, in black with red interior and as stock as possible so I can play around with it. Also the wealth of knowledge on the forum will be invaluable!

Second a Nissan 350Z GT, coupe because I really don't like the look of the convertible. Also very good aftermarket.

Third, and at a stretch, a Porsche, possibly a Cayman? As good as the Boxster is, I don't really like it so I know I'll have to stretch my budget.

I'm not ready to give up the fun of a sports car nor the manual life but I'm more than ready to embrace a few more creature comforts and speed. What are your opinions on my current choices, am I missing a cracking car on the list?

First choice is looking good mate.;)

Tony.

@Bringit96 have you checked the insurance costs yet mate as that will help narrow down the search

All nice cars. I agree the 350z Coupe is a real eye catcher, the 370z I love too. No idea how any of them drive. But if you like the Nissan, why not a z4c?

The insurance cost between a Z4 and a Z4C isn't too far apart so that has thrown another car into the mix. The 350Z slots itself in between the two and whatever car I choose I know the insurance is going to go up.

For reference here's a Z4 that I really like: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Z4-3-0i-Manual/333241936018?hash=item4d96c46892:g:7vgAAOSwPbldDgKT

You'll need a super stretchy wallet to get close to a Cayman if you're currently looking at Z4's. You don't see many under £10k and even then they usually need a little attention

First job straight out of Uni, blimey ! I was given a rusting wreck of an Anglia which had been 'resting' in an old garage for some time by a friend of the family. After several weeks ripping off the front wings, grinding, sanding, pop riveting, etc , etc. I painted the outside with blue enamel using a large brush and the interior with gloss black Woolworths paint. It was literally held together with paint, filler and rivets.I had it for about three years before a garage actually took it in on a deal for a Triumph Herald 12/50 with sunroof . Luxury !!!

Yeah, those were the days. Every weekend the driveway was covered in little piles of rust and the air was thick with the smell of P38 and cellulose aerosol paint. My old man used to go mad....

What is this uni thing that the young bloke is leaving? When I was a boy back in the dark ages , yair yair yair, we all know how it goes. Good on the kid.
