They are 340 mm long, 300 mm would do. They do not need to be the heavy duty welded closed eye bolts like those shown in the picture, they are what I had on hand. Normal eye bolts will do the trick as the forces are not great. Measure up from the first hole in the control arm and you will get under 300 mm.

If you cant get long eyebolts, get a couple of eye nuts and some all thread and make your own.

Unbelievable just sprayed it up with silicone to try my latest contraption and it went straight on!

Now it's moving around on the arm. Will the silicone dry out? Do I need to squirt some brake cleaner in to try and 'rinse' it?

The silicon should dry out, if not brake cleaner will move it.

Tony.

Okay thanks. And are the lollipops supposed to be pre-loaded? I installed them initially parallel to the wishbone arm and then let them move on the silicone when I bolted it iup.

To be honest I would have just fitted them on the same hexagon as the old ones. I'm not sure if they would be parallel to the arms or not.

Tony.

Think the hex stubs are E46?

It's all back together now anyway. Well enough to get it back on the ground for Christmas :)

Will update the main thread with progress pics.

Just thought I would add my experience to this thread.

Tried to fit Meyle bushes but no hope of getting them on by hand. tried heating them up, still no mission. Read online somewhere about freezing them, did this and managed to slide them part of the way on. Stumped for a while, wishing i had chosen polybushes, but ended up using a brake piston retractor tool braced against the crossmember (cross brace?) Once the end of the wishbone was flush with the bush, I added a couple of thickish bolts either side of the retractor plate to push it all the way on.
