Last day of 2019, so getting out to waste a bit of fuel. SORN starts tonight!!!!

Then its get the car in the air and get on with numerous jobs.....

1 Strip out and refurb rear end
1a( and most important) Sort out fuel tank straps ready for the first production batch
2 Front end refurb
3 replace Wing mirrors.
4 replace washer nozzles
5 seats and centre console out and look about installing arm rest

To this end I have bought myself something to ensure I remember to eat and sleep
A new garage clock

Plus I have @ Lee ‘s number on speed dial, And @t-tony...... don't go off to Florida anytime soon =))

BUT First. Need to empty all these before I get started......

I will be doing a thread on all the work....but it wont be as fast and professional as The ZedSheds.....
More a really painfully slow attempt by an idiot novice.

However, I do have a back up plan .....seen a nice looking low milage dakar yellow 6 pot about 20 miles away

For any newbies to the forum , and anyone that has doubts about their mechanical skills, if I can do this, then believe me, anyone can!!!!

Thanks Alan, may need some help later on......

ripping the car apart, ie destroying it......I’m probably ok with =))

....and many thanks to you and Maxine for all the support you have given to me and Tricia over the last year.

Looking forward to the threads and pics of the progress.

Are you looking at investing in a 2nd Zed - the Dakar?

@Jjim .....if all this goes wrong the dakar may be my only Zed=))=))=))

I may go and have a look just to see whats its like.. No actual plans to buy one .....but sometimes it cant be helped!!!!!

At least you’ll end up with a doner car =))

I know what happens when you go to ‘look’ at another Zed. How do you think I ended up with 2 myself =))

:drinks:Got up this morning ( just about) ....legs could just hold my weight, and vision far from the 2020 that I was expecting from this year.

Crawled out to the garage to make a start.....but no Jack !!!!! Apparently has p***** off with Jill to get some water......which actually seems to be a good idea at the moment........so the Zed Lean-to will have to wait until tomorrow now, as Bognor are at Home to Worthing this afternoon, and I still have beers left

BUT ......Happy New Year to all the forum members in the UK , Europe, Across the Pond, and Down Under

( but my happy new year will start tomorrow .....hic!)

:drinks::drinks::drinks::bashhead:

Hi Alan......it was crap.....hopefully I’ll have more success with the car tomorrow :)

Yeah, at least that can only end 1-0 Malc.;)

Tony.

No better way to learn than getting stuck in plus there is plenty of back up available on here.

Tell me about it ! =))

Dont ask me I'm crap but I'll read your thread happily. :D

Gorrit out yet Malc? @Mazza

Tony.

No:arghh::arghh::arghh:

I thought that you take the tension off the shock, undo the bolt , lower the trailing arm and the spring would fall out.... but it still under a bit of tension.???
Oh .... hang on.... should I have disconnected the drive shafts at the diff??

A long bar will help with a person standing on the end. Disconnect the droplinks also helps.

Tony.
