Jesus buddy, that's a fair amount of bad luck, hope all improves and congrats on your pending marriage

bad luck is sure was, but she is making good progress and has surprised even the doctors. just dont try and work out how the body gets rid of all that broken down muscle tissue, its grim.

Sorry to hear about the rough time you have both been having and very glad things are on the mend. Congratulations on the forthcoming marriage.

Crikey Jesus you've both had a rough time Jason, sorry to hear it :(.
Best wishes for the future, good to see you back on here.
Really does make you have to question some commonly prescribed medications.
Sara was on meds for a long term problem with acid reflux, which in turn lead to her suffering painfull, mobility limiting joint problems for 8 years. Was only detected by a doc who was at her practice as a stand in for a few weeks, the regular doc never followed up the cause of the problem :meh:.

Anyway huge congrats on your engagement and the forthcoming wedding .

Steve.

Good to hear from you Jase and it's great news that Sally is on the mend. Doctors are just like mechanics in that they don't always get it right. Some of their diagnosis is purely "best guess".
I really feel for you mate, as I've experienced similar with my family members.
I've been taking a statin every day since 1993 with no problems, but then I must have a cast iron constitution. I can eat things a billy goat wouldn't contemplate, but that's another story.

Sorry to hear of your problems Jason, but pleased to hear Sally is on the mend.
Congrats on your wedding too.

Thank you for sharing this Jason. So glad to hear Sally is on the road to recovery. A friend of mine had similar problems with statins. He decided to go for a health check when he reached 50. The doctor offered him statins to reduce his chance of a stroke by 50%, even though he wasn't at any more than normal risk. Within 12 months he had to retire from his job as a postman because he had virtually lost the use of his legs. After lengthy consultations with a private consultant, at his own expense, the problem was discovered, and he was weaned off the statins. Within 12 months, he was back to nearly full strength. Unfortunately, not every medicine suits every person.

Thanks for sharing. Brave of you to be so open.

Wishing your fiancee a speedy recovery and congratulations on the upcoming wedding

Last time he was one here he did say that he had been very busy with his work and a lot in the pipeline as far as I recall.

Tony.
Thats what he told me last year when in touch re the seat belt holder clips

So sorry to hear of your problems, but glad Sally is now doing well and on the mend and big congratulations on your engagement
Geoff

Oh dear, you have both been through the mill. Glad you've got to the bottom of it and hopefully see you both out in the Zed soon, spring motoring is on the horizon :) Good to see you back on the site.

P. S @t-tony, wondered who gave you a dislike! It's this newish phone, keeps opening things as I scroll down and other such mischief. Someone else got a dislike too before :shy:

... i gave up smoking, one down side though is i am now addicted to KFC (theres one next door to the hospital).
Packing in the tobacco is good.
However, don't overdo the KFC - a Google search would tell you why, but clogging up your arteries is not a good move.

Here's to Sally's continued recovery and I'll raise a glass to your forthcoming nuptials :)

What a shocking time you’ve both had. Really can’t say anything that hasn’t already been said. It’s not hard to imagine how you’ve been feeling.
Am sure no doctor sets out to get things wrong but sometimes things are more complicated than you or they can imagine. The important thing is that Sally is on the mend and hopefully everything can be put right.
Wish Sally a speedy recovery and you both all the very best for the future.

thanks again for all the comments folks, yesterday she managed half the flight of stairs, guess i will soon be moving our bedroom back up there again, its in the dinning room/spare at the moment, the good part of this is the window looks out onto the zed:)
the covers are off and i have been driving it again (not used it since early October, no wait yes i did i drove it home top down from Redditch hospital, i remember watching the fireworks going off at Ragley hall on there Halloween night, the A46 goes right past there) so not so long after all, seems ages ago now:eek:.

Good to hear Jason. Hopefully Sallys improvement will continue quickly and things will soon be back to normal for you both.
